The community services agency of south, texas inc. commonly known to the community as CSA was initially founded in April, of 1965.

The original name was Economic Opportunity Development Corporation of Frio, LaSalle and McMullen Counties.

Over the course of the years CSA has had several name changes but the target geographical area has been the four counties of Dimmit, LaSalle, Maverick and Frio.

CSA was originally organized as a Community Action Agency under the Economic Opportunity's Act of 1964 which was initiated by President Lyndon Baines Johnson.

Over the course of its 50 year history the mission of the agency has been to provide human development services to the low income families of the area.

Mission Statement: The mission of the agency is : "To Serve as a Catalyst to Utilize Available Resources To Improve the Quality of Life in Our Communities." The agency sees itself as a vehicle to seek resources at the local level, state level, federal level or private enterprises to address the needs of the community. The Board of Directors provides the necessary governance to assure all resources are utilized in the most efficient manner.
